Can you show me your grey or blue walls?

Currently have Dulux Timeless on all of the walls, I'm fed up of it now. It shows up all the marks and dcs handprint and I want a change. At the same time still want to stay quite neutral.

I've been looking at Dulux Polished Pebble, dh says it's still too light.

Dh likes Dulux Chic Shadow, I'm worried it will be too dark.

I also love the look of Farrow and Ball Skylight but worried it's not neutral enough!

I would be really grateful for any recommendations or better still photo inspiration.

Sorry, no help as we're in a completely white new build and just about to start with paint samples so following for pics!

I used chic shadow in my (old) bathroom and it was lovely, not too dark at all.

I previously had chic shadow in my hall. Was too dark. Nice at first but then depressing. Replaced it all with ‘goose down’ which was much nicer.

Sorry ignore me- I had chic shadow in the bedroom and a much darker one in hall. Chic shadow was lovely

My go to neutral is RAL9002 which is a grey white neutral. I have it in every room in the house except kitchen (which is F&B strong white)

I get it made in dulux trade. All my skirtings are Little Greene Co French Grey light

This is chic shadow (Bare room post decorating!). It's a fab colour, goes on really well and isn't too dark, we have just painted our kitchen in it as well.

F&B Cabbage White is the palest purest light blue. Looks like nothing in the tin but magical on the walls.

Dulux Polished Pebble is a nice pale grey but there's a hint of lilac to it in our north facing bedroom.

For a dark accent colour, F&B Inchyra Blue is my new crush.

Chic shadow is nice but can appear a bit dark when with certain furniture lighting. I have just bought goose down as it's a bit lighter.

Goosedown (I love this, it's a "proper" grey)

Thank you.

Mutiny that looks great.

Olivander I actually quite like the look of Goosedown from your photos.

It looks like it might be in between, but dh really wants something darker especially in hallway where it gets scuffed easily.

It's not the colour of paint, but the type of paint that makes the difference. Matt paint really shows up marks and is hard to clean. Silk is much better for high maintenance areas such as hallways. It also bounces a bit of light around whereas Matt absorbs light. We had Matt everywhere but then soon changed back to silk for this very reason.
An alternative in a busy hallway would be to use panelling that can be painted. We've got it in the bathroom and it's very low maintenance. I have to look really closely to spot splashes and marks! You could go for darker panelling and lighter walls.

This isn't before we painted!
Here's the after. I've tried to show the grain in the panelling.

Oops! The first picture is before we painted, the other two after 😂
The panelling is from Howdens and is moisture proof MDF that you stick on. It's quite cheap and easy to fit.

Goosedown is definitely lighter than chic shadow but it's still on the darker side. I used the trade vinyl Matt which is wipeable

F&B Elephant's Breath. It's a pinky grey, like the underside of a mushroom.
