Hi,
I'm researching engineered wood flooring and have found something I really like. It's UV oiled, which apparently means that the oil is cured into the wood with a UV light. A person at one company said that UV oiled floors need no maintenance; people at other companies have said that they do need re-oiling, but less often than natural oiled floors. A person at another company said that if you don't re-oil them then they become less stain-resistant, but that if you do then they can go blotchy; he said the original UV curing process makes it hard for future coats of oil to seep into the wood, so it can end up blotchy. Does anyone know whether this is true? I really hope what this person said is not the case, because I really like the flooring I've found! (I've not bought it yet.)
