Gas combi boil and where to install.

We currently have coal central heating but we are looking at changing to gas but not sure where to install the combi boiler. We have the airing cupboard where the water tank is. This is in a bedroom. We have a cupboard by the back door or we have the loft. Jus wanted to know what other people have done.

We put ours in the airing cupboard.

Nb though - in cold weather, combiboilers exhaust pipe can freeze up and you need to pour a kettle of warm water over the external end of the pipe. This is a LOT more difficult if the boiler is upstairs or in the loft.

So I would advise the cupboard by the back door. Any down sides to that? If that wouldn't be ideal, could you sacrifice a kitchen cupboard for it?
