Reupholstery cost vs new sofa

Just that really. Have two sofas that are beat. Nice cushioning though.

is it any cheaper to recover or same cost to replace?

Depends on the quality. For good stuff it's usually way cheaper to recover. For Ikea £200 sofas, get new ones.

Upholstery places will quote you.

I know an upholsterer. It’s usually more cost effective to replace the whole thing unless a very expensive piece.

I had our 3 reupholstered at a cost of c£3k as when I priced new ones from the same source as originals (which were about 20 years old) they were over £10k! Absolute no brainer in our case.
