Pick me some cushions and a throw! (Pics)

I hate the sofa. It's gross.

I had a moment of madness last year and loved it in the shop, I got home and it just isn't me. It's paid for and I can't afford another so I'll just make do.

I'm also completely useless with soft furnishing... can you pick me some/recommend colours that would go nice? Grin

What's the rest of the room like? A chunky knitted throw in white/cream?

I'm enjoying La Redoute homeware at the moment. Ignore the prices, they always have a 40% off (ish) promotion going - enter the code at checkout.

Are you anywhere near an Ikea? They have big leafy plants for £20. Makes a good impact in a room.

Velvet cushions seem to be really in at the moment. I bought feather cushion inners from Dunelm and picked up a bunch of different colours velvet cushion covers from H&M online. If you join their 'club' (free) it's always free delivery and they do free returns by post or to the store. There's often a 10% code knocking around. Their homewares are really good value too. I don't work for them! They might do throws too. Often Wilko/Dunelm/Asda have some gems in home decor/soft furnishings.

Maybe blush pink, gold and creamy/white cushions? Different textures work well.

A trick I read with cushions is to buy the inner slightly bigger than the cover for maximum puffiness! For example I ordered 45cm cushion inners for my 40cm H&M cushion covers. They also do 50cm covers - I've stacked a couple of these at the back of my three 40cm cushions.

Ikea also have a good range of cushion covers.

I'm adding gold accessories around my room and a rug (from La Redoute Smile).

I considered a geometric coffee table for on the rug but I'm not quite at that stage yet.

Wayfair has some great picks. I haven't shopped from there yet so not sure of their quality and customer service.

Here's the rug I bought. Lots of other zigzag-y/Berber designs too in various neutral colourways.

I only mentioned the other bits and pieces as I have tan leather nubuck sofas too!
