Stair Carpet Opinions

I've managed to get a slot for a new carpet to be fitted on my stairs and landing after waiting bloody months for DH to finish sanding and polishing the floor. I've looked at the samples and have found one I like but whereas the old carpet was a wool Berber (no pile just a loop) whereas the one I fancy is one with a pile. Obviously the stairs are high usage area and I'm worried that the pile will be flattened and look awful quickly especially on the flat bits. What do people think?

Find something else. We went for cheapish carpet suitable for rental properties but with a good underlay. It seems surprisingly good and hardwaring so far.

Absolutely no pile! It'll flatten and the stairs is the worst place for a.

Twist is best.

Thanks both, I think I'll go for the twist.
