Steel vs Acrylic baths?

Any thoughts? Thinking in terms of comfort, appearance, ease of maintenance, longevity, etc. Are steel baths worth the extra cost?

We went for reinforced acrylic - retains heat much better than steel, but feels just as solid. Now 6 years old and it has no marks, scratches or damage.

Are you having a shower over the bath? If so, I would go for steel as there can be slight movement with acrylic which can lead to leaks.

We are having a shower over and have bought some quite expensive curved tiles to go around it so I think movement is a no-no. Sounds like steel might be the best bet!
