Roman blind in bathroom

I have been given a beautiful roman blind in blue toile. I am planning a new bathroom and it would be ideal BUT it is just slightly bigger than the window. Has anyone ever place a blind directly onto the wall and not in the window. If so, did it look odd or, by juggling ornaments on sill etc., did it work as a look?

MsMama. Thank you so much. I shall look carefully at links you posted.

It's quite OK to hang a roman blind outside the recess, but they usually are made bigger all round to give a decent overlap.
If it looks skimpy outside the recess you could make it bigger by sewing a border all round it

I think they look better outside

Really don't like inside ones

Breakfast at; Thank you! I am going to plan new bathroom around the blind. Busy doing a "mood" board.
