Unsure of using dark colour in boot/utility room

I’m looking for some design advice please for our boot room extension which we are just having built. Apologies for the very long post! Any thoughts would be really appreciated as I am going round & round in circles and DH has no interest whatsoever.

The new room will lead into our existing kitchen which is a large room, open plan to a dining / sitting room. It’s a rural house and the style is very countrified which I love. I’m not planning on making any changes to the kitchen (picture attached – I do B&B so that picture is from my website hence looks so “posed!”). The kitchen units are painted Neptune Calico, there are oak worktops except around the sink which is Siena Beige granite. The flooring is big flagstones almost a blue-black colour, and wall tiles again almost a blue-black slate. The curtains/ blinds are in a gorgeous green plaid which you can just see.

The new boot room will itself be open plan to the kitchen – there are currently a set of 3m wide double doors from the kitchen which will be removed, linking the two spaces. I am super-tidy so I am not worried about hiding away clutter in the new room & we want to preserve as much light as possible.

The extension will have new double doors on the long side so I am hoping to re-use the big curtains. We are also leaving exposed the pale grey stonework which will have been the old outside wall.

I’m planning on copying through the style of the kitchen into the new room as much as possible but I’d also really like to incorporate some dark tones. I particularly love kitchen units painted in really dark, dramatic colours. The fitted units we are having in the new room will be a 1) window seat, 2) a boxed in full height fridge/freezer, 3) Belfast sink unit with set of drawers to side/ under (for washing small muddy dogs), and 4) vertical unit with cubby holes for wicker baskets (gloves, hats etc), coat hanging over a bench seat with boot storage below. This will be on the old outside wall so against that pale exposed stone.

My idea was to have the fridge/freezer and sink units in the Calico paint and then a different, darker colour for the window seat & coat hanging units. I like F&B Treron but I can’t decide if I am not being bold enough and won’t get the affect I’m after as it’s too light? Or conversely will the room look too gloomy when this darkish-green is paired with a dark floor/ splashback?
