Iv just wallpapered my daughter bedroom and one of the wall is only 1/3 of a full length wall, the ceiling drops to the wall and I was wondering what this sort of wall is to be able to search for ideas to make the top of the wallpaper look better then it does, I don't want to cut it because it will never be straight. Is the wall that is painted dark the gable wall - the wall where the roof meets at a point above it ( like a triangle )? I'm not sure what the technical name is but you usually find those "shorter" walls in attic conversions etc as the short walls fit in under the slope of the roof. Try this link - it may give you some ideas. www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/222083825357036733/

Dormer?

I think it may be called a knee wall.

People tend to frame them out and use them as storage.

Thank you everyone, I put some washi tape on the top and it look good even in green as shown. But I will be getting some silver tomorrow. Only 99p for 5 meters at 15mm wide perfect, also might trim the ceiling with it so the grey paint on the white don't look so bad

I'd call it a sloping ceiling. You could treat it as part of the wall and wallpaper it all the way to the flat ceiling. It may give you a better finish.

Or (not very helpful I'm afraid) I would have papered the gable wall and painted the rest of it the same colour. A bit like this?
