A colour to go with the world's most boring tiles?

I'm currently renting and my bathroom has the 'magnolia' of tiles. Nothing seems to go with them other than magnolia but I can't stand that colour.

What colour would you paint the walls?

To make it more awkward it can't be anything too exciting as they'll make me repaint when I leave 😬

Any suggestions to make my bathroom less bland?

Everything goes with magnolia! It's completely neutral. To be frank though...as a fellow renter, I would not bother painting the bathroom. Unless it was manky that is.

I'd just buy some new accessories to make it more your own. I do paint sitting rooms and bedrooms but I think a plain bathroom wall is fine. It's not like you're sitting in there for hours.

I would rejoice that it wasn't in-your-face ugly and buy some nice towels and accessories. I'd pick a nice teal colour but your choice as anything will go!! Wink

Some deep orange towels. Nice bathroom accessories you can take with you. Lidl/ Aldi/ TKMaxx are good. Leave all the cream...its fine.

White. Go with white walls and get some nice accessories. It will look clean, bright and you can take the accessories with you.

I think white could be the right way to go @Unsure123123 like you say it'll brighten it up and make it look fresh and clean.

It hasn't got much wall space to paint so I don't mind @AjasLipstick it won't cost much just my time. And sadly it is a bit grubby looking! Even when it's been cleaned it looks dull and uninviting. I bought some really nice accessories and bright towels and it still looked rubbish so I've bagged them up to save them for when I've painted!

Might take some more pictures and do a before and after 😄

I agree with the white. It "darkens" magnolia to a kind of beige.

I think cornflower blue towels might work with that combo - but you do need plenty of white in there too eg.

And if the magnolia looks a bit yellow still, the blue won't argue with it.

oops maybe this time
