I need some inspiration, what wall art/mirrors do you have up?

My house is very much a blank canvas, white walls throughout, I need to make it feel more homely now.

Currently the sitting room, dining room and hallway walls are all just plain and look very unloved.

we have something like this in the dining room link

in the living room we have a large canvas family photo and some more subtle seascapes

and in the hall we have a mirror like this link

we live near the sea so we used this to influence our home decoration. you could do the same, if you live near some green land then have abstract paintings with green in, if you live in a city then paintings with a few bright colours in.

all the best x

I have original oil paintings everywhere - which sounds rather grand, but they're all mid century and I paid between ten and thirty quid for them on eBay. They are so beautiful and original and each one really means something to me.

@ILovePierceBrosnan every single link on Mumsnet goes through an affiliate scheme first. That is set by mumsnet, not individual posters. It is one of the ways mumsnet makes money. All links are automatically pushed through skimlinks or similar. It happens in a split second that most people don't even notice.

Onatree I did wonder if that was the case or if my iPad had been taken over!
