what wall colour goes with plum and raspberry furniture

Hi

I need inspiration for our living room walls.

We have berry-coloured soft furnishings that we can't afford to change (and also quite like.) Cream and raspberry curtains and plum chenille sofas and chairs. They don't really go together or clash, they're just there. The carpet is a neutral warm goldeny beige. Can't change that right now, either.

The walls are currently the colour of rich tea biscuits. They need repainting.

I'd love a colour that adds light and brightness but have no idea what. The only thing I can think of is a bright, buttery cream. Would that work? Too dull? Any other ideas?

My living room is plum and raspberry. I’ve got jade and bronze to match. Although I want to change the bronze to gold. I wasn’t convinced on the jade but it was the colour match in the paint book so bought cushions and they look lovely.
