Countertop vs undermount bathroom sink?

Hello all
I think I prefer the look of countertop sinks as the undermounts look a bit old fashioned to me. Is there anything else to consider other than aesthetics? Thanks!

We've got one which is the whole counter a bit like this sort of think with a rectangular basin on the top covering the whole thing - like in pic 2

Pro's - looks great

Cons, water dribbles down the fronts of the drawers, meaning you are forever wiping the frontage down. Also with that type of rectangular basin the water washes any 'bits'/shaver stuff etc to the far edges and leaves them there, so you are forever swilling the basin.

But apart from that it does look really good, but is a bit high maintenance than first thought. It obviously doesn't take 30 seconds to do the wiping/swilling etc, but it's the fact you have to do it. - but at least it's always clean !!

We can’t go for that style as we have a recessed area where sink needs to go and it’s a non standard size so need a custom unit x
