Bathroom: is grey passe?

We’re updating the decor in our bathroom. It has a light wood floor, white fittings and cabinets and white tiles round the bath. At the moment the ceiling’s white but the walls are quite a deep cream. I fancy grey to replace the cream but is it old hat now? And if it is, what would be nicer? Rural, period house

Hope not, my new bathroom is painted warm pewter by dulux 😂

I love a restful grey.we have Paris grey by F&B in the bedroom & I love it on all lights against PBW

Aspenfrost · 02/10/2018 12:25

Apparently it is!

Grey is passé, but do we care? More fashionable would be a dark green, dark blue (F&B Hague Blue) or earthy pink (Rockett St George Broderie).

If it's paint - does it really matter if it's passe if you like it? (especially in a room which exists for you to wash your arse and shit in)

More of a worry if you're committing to tiling it grey - but still I've just had ours tiled grey and love it (I've never liked cream/earth toned neutrals) as a base to take bright accessories.

Thanks all. I can live without dark green, dark blue or earthy pink (actually that sounds quite nice...). Grey it is I think!

Grey is a neutral so it will never really date. (Fingers crossed as I've just painted my bathroom purbeck stone)

Ohyesiam · 04/10/2018 22:41

Grey is here to stay.

Gogreen · 11/10/2018 11:26

I personally don’t like the dark greens, blues and light pinks, it’s not right to me at all! I’d go with grey

ViserionTheDragon · 11/10/2018 20:42

I'm about to order grey tiles for my bathroom Smile.

Pick something you like rather than worrying about fashion. You have to live with it so if you like grey go for it.

PumpkinKitty82 · 11/10/2018 21:38

I hope not as nearly all the rooms in my house are shades of varying grey!
I just accent them with different bold colours so they’re not dull
