I have this wall paper for a feature wall in my bedroom. Its a fairly small square room with 2 Windows. I have purple blinds and floor length curtains, which have to stay. I have chosen this wallpaper www.therange.co.uk/decorating/wallpaper-and-wallpapering-accessories/design-trends/floral-wallpaper/euphoria-floral-plum-wallpaper/#168829

I am looking to make my bedroom glamorous and dark. I have very little furniture in the room as I like the uncluttered look and its too small. I do have a massive cupboard / dressing room to store everything in.

However I am struggling with colours for my bedding set and the other walls. I am upcycling my dressing table in a deep purple colour and hope to get a chandelier because, why not?😁

Does anyone have any ideas for colours of bedding, accent colours or links to cool accessories to finish the look. I do have a fab mirror with cherubs on, the bedroom is intended to be a bit over the top 😉

Personally I much prefer when the whole room is wallpapered rather than a feature wall.

But they is very dark wallpaper!!

I'd go with plain dark purple bedding and dark purple walls, you don't want any more patterns getting in the way of that wallpaper!!

Maybe some black and grey accent colours.

I am not usually keen on a feature wall but I think that wallpaper on every wall might be a bit much even for me! My dressing table will be dark purple. I was thinking of picking out the very light pink in the wall paper to paint the other walls but it might be a bit insipid. Ummm will hope design inspiration hits!

When you go for metal items in the room and other wall colours think Pewter rather than silver or gold or other purples would look really nice, it's a softer look but still bold

I'm not sure pale pink walls would work, c that wallpaper is really warm, you need a rich warm colour to compliment it. And I think overall it will look better as a feature wall is the other walls are also dark.

@overmydeadbody I think you are right and the other walls will have to be dark, there is a deep inky blue in the wallpaper and I am considering using that on the other walls. The room is small with 2 doors and 2 windows so not a massive expanse of wall to cover.

I think if the room is small I would keep everything else fairly light too and I do think your light pink or even white would work:

That said, if you did want to go dark on all the walls (but still keep everything else light) - I think this is very well done:

Thanks both those links give food for thought, they both have white in the paper and then a lot of white in the furnishings. Ummm food for thought, I might let it all sink in for a bit. I haven't quite persuaded my dh to decorate yet! Thanks

Your wall paper s beautiful and v striking. I would almost suggest you paper the room MINUS the feature wall, which could then be painted in a light color while not degrading at all from your wish for the room to be dark. This would be much more sumptuous.

With decorating I think your bedside lamps will be a focal point at night so think about them carefully.

As for colours I don't ever use purple as a base but dark green would go (think of the wine/vine) and other dark earthy colours. I wouldn't pair with lighter purples. I think it would look like the froth in a jam!

I'd use dark wood with that paper, not white.

I like the idea of dark green, that could look lovely. I am not sure of my dh wall papering skills can cope with more than a feature wall! My curtains and blinds are a cadbury purple so I would need to get the right colour of green, any suggestions? I have an awful bedside lamp so will need a nice pair.

The doors are currently white and I am loathe to paint them any other colour but a dark colour would look better.
