Too much matching?

We have matching curtains and bedspread. Now I’ve found lampshades in the same design and want them for our bedside tables but is that too much the same? There’s a rug available too!

I think it is too much. But that's just my opinion.

You could pick one of the colours out to use in plain on one or two items.

I once stayed in a guest bedroom where the bed linen matched the lampshades which matched the curtains which matched the wallpaper... Too much!

Too much for me. I’d go for plain lampshades too.

It's a bit 90's to do all matching. I wouldn't personally.

If you like the pattern and would enjoy everything matching then why not?

Decorating is all about what YOU love and what makes you happy, not about 'rules' and what other people think is acceptable.

Depends. If it's quite understated and neutral then you can liven the room up with splashes of other textiles/colours/patterns.

If its your own bedroom whatever makes you happy and relaxed in there.

If its for a guest room and your thinking about how guests would view it - I'd say it's probably better to have lamps in the colour but not matching pattern.

Master bedroom, do whatever the hell you like! How often do you see, think or care about your friends' master bedroom decor?
