I am really keen on this sort of painted wall, but am not sure how to achieve it or what the technique would be called - does anyone know what I should google? I don't think it is Ombre?

It looks like rag rolling but without using a rag tied around a roller. I say its a coat of light blue with dark blue applied softly with a rag. Either that or look up faux stucco paint effects.

Looks a bit velvety to me, might be somewhere to start on google!

It's rag rolling. I also (back in the 90s) used to achieve a similar effect with bagging (scrunching up a plastic bag and daubing a darker colour over a base that was a shade or two lighter).

I did similar things with sponges.

Can't believe it's "in" again. Must be getting old.

I just removed wallpaper that was almost identical to this!

I did like it, it was just too dark for the room and also covered in mould!

A friend has a similar look on his living room 'feature' wall. It was some kind of 'suede effect' paint he told me. It was chosen by him and his ex-wife and looks really nice. He is now wanting to redecorate and has found painting over it to be a nightmare...
