Hi, we're looking at engineered wood parquet flooring for our upcoming extension and wondering if anyone, who has recently had similar, could tell us how much you paid for installation (per square metre if possible). Thanks in advance!

Should say, as had a private message about London prices, that I'm in Central Scotland.

Hi
Depends on the prep needed what the floor is etc is it tongue and groove or stick down etc
have you found someone who sells what you are looking for

Hi @daddy2kids

We're right at the beginning of the process, just trying to work out what we can afford, so not set on a particular brand or type yet.

We saw some nice engineered wood which had tongue & groove. Straight planks of natural oak were priced at £82.50/m2 including fitting but the guy said he had recently provided a quote for parquet (using the same supplier but smaller planks to make herringbone) at around £230/m2.

I know there is a lot more involved with parquet hence being more expensive than straight planks but just wondering if anyone has had experience of putting it in cheaper than £230 (and how it turned out) or if that was the standard because it looks amazing but for 75m2 of flooring, it's not £11k nicer!!
