I’m clueless

I hate choosing colours as i’m so indecisive. DS (6) is going to be moving into our bedroom soon and I want to decorate it and put in a new carpet and furniture before he moves in. My idea was for a lovely pale grey with a cream carpet. To add colour to the room, I can get some colourful prints and curtains. I’ve bought some tester pots and the nicest grey out of the lot is Dulux’s Night Jewels 5 but I can’t decide whether it looks really nice or whether the room will look like a cold prison cell when it’s done! We have Egyptian Cotton in the living room which is more of a greige. I don’t know whether something like that which is slightly warmer will look better. I’m so undecided!

Erm... I wouldn't advise a cream carpet for a 6 year old.

I also know that grey has been fashionable on some of the house programmes, but I think it is awful - really drab, dull, even dark.

Have you searched Pinterest for colour combinations or inspiration?

He's six, let him choose a colour (have a selection to choose from, rather than giving him free reign!) Definitely not cream carpet for a young child, it'll be ruined in months.

He’s 6, why not let him choose the paint and you choose the carpet. I’d get a reasonably cheap carpet in the colour lock stuff then not have to so worry about it.

I LOVE grey, but they’re only little for a short while and choosing the colour for your room is fun. Bring home colour cards for him to choose from if you’re worried he’d choose something awful. We had to ‘steer’ from a bloody horrible gaudy blue to a navy (which the DC loves).
