Carpet for Landing / Stairs

Hello

We’re ordering new carpet this week for our stairs and landing after redecorating our house. The walls are Polished Pebble, with satinwood Brilliant White on the woodwork and while paint above the picture rail and on the ceiling. Current carpet is a (dirty) brown and will be going. The hallway will be a medium oak coloured vinyl.

So what carpet do we go for? Grey to go with the walls, or a strip to add a bit of interest, or something else? Does anyone have any inspiration for me? Photos help!

Similar pait colours, we've just had a grey with a very slight fleck in it on stairs, landing and bedrooms. Looks fab, and looks slightly different in each area because of the different light amounts. We also have it in the living room with putty coloured walls.
Not ok keen on striped stair carpets, I think it's a fashion fad that will soon blow over! Also, unless your stairs are perfectly square it could look odd.
