I’m in Scotland as I know this will affect answer.

Do you think I could have two bedrooms (one large double and one single), a mid sized living room, staircase and small porch skimmed, painted, carpeted for £3200? I’ve had quotes for joinery work including new doors and skirtings for £1800 so would have £3200 for the rest.

I know price varies loads but am I WAY out? Decorating would just be painting, no paper or if there was would be one wall per room.

Thanks

I don't think you're way out but I think you might be under by £1000-1500 depending on what carpet you choose. Ime very cheap underlay and carpet is a false economy

Thanks for your reply.
I definitely wouldn’t want to scrimp on the carpets or underlay. Absolutely not.

I would say your way out I'm afraid especially if you want decent carpet plus underlay for that price for 3 rooms, a staircase and a porch. You might have gotten the carpets for that price but I think you will struggle to get all the carpets and have the rooms skimmed and painted for under £4000.

No, you should double that and it will still be a squeeze depending on choice of carpet, paint and size of room.

Do you need to get it done all at once?
