My staircase is enclosed meaning it's narrow with 2 large walls to the side and one in front of you as you go down the stairs. Picture attached hopefully There are spindles all the way down on the left which also makes it tricky to paint. It needs repainting and I would love to go for a colour this time rather than white but am worried it would feel more closed in. I did wonder about breaking colour up with some wallpaper just on the bit facing you from the top of the stairs but haven't see any pictures of this look at all (maybe for a good reason!?). Has anyone decorated a similar hall with anything other than neutrals please or have any good ideas please?
