PAX wardrobes - tips please

I need a wardrobe and I have been looking at PAX.

Used the IKEA tool and I'm finding it difficult to put together - it can't be this hard.

I want 2m wide (2 x 1m wide units)
some drawers 1m wide in one unit and half width in the other unit
hinged
hanging rods.
perhaps a couple of pullout shelves if space.

Does anyone have any tips as to how to put this together?

I will be hiring someone to assemble it - and would like the same person to "build it in" to the room and add a coving so it looks built in - I'm assuming the same person can do this. Any idea how big a job this is?

TIA

Yes you can paint them but you need to use a special primer first - zinsser, which Screwfix stock There are lots of blog tutorials online - not done it myself yet.

Does anyone have any tips on how to extend pax upwards? I'd like the fitted in look but have high victorian ceilings. Thanks.

@dryheave I’ve got a few questions please as what you’ve done is exactly what I’m thinking. I thought I’d need to add coving but also raise the wardrobes to add skirting for the built in look. Yours looks perfect but I don’t think you added skirting have you? I’d much rather get away with it. So is yours the frame I can see at the bottom or skirting please? Also, is yours white?
And which doors please? Hemnes?
I’m also trying to decide if we go all baskets or basket at the bottom then drawers. Are the baskets as deep as the drawers? There’s 1cm difference on the dimensions online but your drawers look much deeper. Are the drawer bases flimsy as in will they come away from the back and sides? Huge thanks!

@NicoAndTheNiners I really need lights in ours! Where did you get those from please? Wired in? Very excited... please tell me all!

Oh one more question please! Do you lay carpet first the wardrobes over or build wardrobes first? Never had carpet so haven’t a clue.

These could be pax but not too sure what cabinets they’ve used above

@Snowglobes our plan is to have them freestanding ( if we ever move we will take them with us) so will be having the carpet laid first however my OH is converting ( Hacking) some units for the front room and as these will be built in and we won't remove them when we move the carpet will go in after they are built.

Depends on your plans if they are to be built in? Save the money on carpet and have it laid after they are in
