Living room help!

Hi!

We've recently painted our new living room a duck egg blue colour with off white around the top of the room/picture rail, but I'm struggling for inspiration when it comes to accent colours.

Whenever I find one I like I go off it pretty quickly when I can't find the items I'm looking looking for, and I would like to have quite a large throw in the colour we choose as DD is a mucky pup and tends to mark up our light grey sofas so quickly. Apparently I'm incredibly picky.

Any help would be appreciated!

I think grey would possibly look a bit dull with the sofas being light grey and we've tried looking at yellow but I can never find a decent sized and good quality throw to match.
As it's north facing I think we'd be better sticking with lighter colours though I think the other way around darker blues would look lovely!

You know I'd never even thought about pinks Oak! They actually look really nice in there! I'm not sure DH will agree but I'll show him. 😂

Googling complementary colours on the colour wheel throws up rich yellow.

See I LOVE yellow and I think it'd really lighten this place up, but every time I look for yellow items I'm so disheartened that I can't find things I am looking for I give up.
I can find hundreds of vases, and a couple of cushions but that's it. It's a shame.

You could do greys and silvers

Or also add gold or brass accents through ornaments/photo frames/cushions/lighting

I would go for a throw in a similar colour to the sofa so it stays neutral.

Make it timeless so u don’t get it bored and I think brass does that if u follow Instagram designers such as Sophie Patterson or Laura Hammett

We do have greys and darker metallics in the room actually, I just hadn't thought of it.

Oooo Sainsbury's new range of pillows, accessories is duck egg blue and a kind of mustard. Worth a look even for inspiration.

I didn't even think of them but I have liked some of their home stuff in the past, last I saw it was all royal blues and I wasn't too keen.
