What can I do with these interesting windowy type things?!

Just moved into a property which I get for work purposes so there's no room for actual remedial work!

We have these interesting window shelf things. Probably only 2 inches deep so not useful for much (although I could start a collection of Sylvanian Families to live there). The shelf indents are both sides of the wall, so in the corridor as well as the lounge and DD's bedroom.

Any creative ideas as to what I can use them or or do with them to make them a bit less weird and dreary?

Thanks!

How much light do you get in from that window? I'd try to hide them with a nice roman blind and leave these 'shelves' as they are as they seem to be part of the window frame.

If they are between the corridor and your dd room you may want to cover them so the light from the corridor doesn't disturb her. Probably won't be an issue for the lounge.

Some plants. Herbs, basil and coriander like the light. Or trailing plants would look lovely.

A thimble collection? I think it's probably best to just leave them be. I quite like it!

Different coloured window film for each pane could look funky? Make your own stained glass type inserts? Stencils? Create little ladders for lego figures to climb to each level?! Mini plants in pots? Lots of fun to be hadSmile

I would paint the inside edges a bright colour.
