Impossible floor choice

We have just had a new kitchen and knocked through into the lounge to create a large L shaped family room.

We are looking at Karndean flooring but can't decide as nothing seems to work.

Kitchen base units are lamproom grey
We have a white/grey quartz worktop with an oak insert.

Dining table is oak (more or less the same as the oak insert)

Sofa is grey.

It's a big space (about 8 metres long) with large bifold doors but North facing so want something quite warm.

Help! All the woods just look wrong, unless we match the table which will look odd.

I think we either need to go much paler or much darker than the oak table but it's an expensive decision to get wrong!

I'm nervous stone effect will be too cold in a large living room. Help!

Go darker. A few years ago a friend got her floors done and she showed me her choice and I remember thinking "Gosh that's dark!" but it looked beautiful.

Plenty of their choices have a lot of grey tones in them anyway.

I think the trick is to choose something cooler in tone....avoid anything red or orange toned and it will look beautiful.

Ooh we have a sample of that one and it's nice but I can't imagine in all over. I'll give it a second look

I think it looks lovely. It is hard to imagine it in a room though I agree...would be good if they offered a mock-up service!

Husband doesn't like it Angry

Neither do I (sorry)
I don't think you need to go so grey, the beauty of wood is that it is a neutral although I agree with no orange or red tones. Something to tone in with the table or could you match the table and paint the legs in Lamproom Grey or toning colour??

OP, Karndean have an augmented reality app which allows you to view different floorings "in" the room you'd be laying them in.

It's only available for Apple devices at the moment so I don't know how good it is!

Ooh thank you. I've had a go with the app and that's been really useful! Thanks

I think we're actually going to go with something along the lines of the table. We found a darker choice which looks lovely but think it might be a bit too bold! Looks beautiful and cosy in the evening but not so great in the day.

We're going with morning oak
