Cat scratches/punctures on faux leather sofa

Any ideas about how to fix or at least improve the appearance of this?
I’m covering the sofas with blankets and throws, getting rid of the cats is not really an option

I have this exact problem. I got some very sharp scissors and kind of sheared the bits that stick out, then rubbed in some dark brown shoe polish and buffed it up.
Not perfect, but looks better.

My settees are the same, from my cat that was PTS in April. I've got another cat, but he's never done that. Like you, I've tried using throws. To be honest, I still would have cats again.

I also have the same problem. But not getting any solution to overcome this issue.
