I'm annoyed by paint

Years ago I had my entire house painted the standard very pale grey (Egyptian Cotton). Love it. Each year I've bought a small pot and touched up little scuffs etc. I've noticed it's never been a perfect match but that's been hardly noticeable. Last week we had some major building work completed and I needed to paint a whole new wall. There were also multiple areas where the little touch ups were needed. I painted the wall. Was impressed with the match. Painted everything else. A week on and the colour has developed a very distinctive pink hue. This is on every area I painted throughout the house, so it's not about aspect. My oh is colour blind so hasnt noticed, but I'm so annoyed. I'm going to have to choose a new wall colour, rather than risk trusting Egyptian Cotton ever again, and do the whole of all the walls I've touched up, and I've made my peace with the idea of my house being ever so slightly two-toned. And I know I'm going to have to get tester pots and that annoys me. I'm trawling old mn grey paint threads fir colour ideas, considering polished pebble.

Perhaps it's a batch problem, contact the seller

Really? I hadn't considered that. I've googled pics of the colour and see some pics of my original wall colour and some of the pinker hue so I presume they've just altered the colour.

Also each year when I patch up scuffs it's been slightly different.

I've no idea on the pink-toned patches, but Dulux Polished Pebble is lovely Grin

Thanks happy. Do you find yours has any pink tones?

I have been trying to decide between Egyptian cotton and just walnut for a couple of months and have painted tester pots on card, painted the wall etc in a few places in my house and Egyptian cotton has never looked pink in any place. I agree that it sounds like a batch problem....I would maybe buy a tester pot and try that in same place and if that looks fine you will know your big tin was off colour? But I also agree polished pebble lovely (though with that you have to look out for a blue tinge in some lights). Just Walnut is nice too....
