Venetian blinds, faux or real wood?

We're replacing our awful pvc vertical blinds with white wooden venetian ones, I was shown both real wood & the only difference I could tell was the faux sample looked a brighter white against th real one. I am awaiting a price on both, but was told there's not a huge difference. I'm leaning towards real wood. Any recommendations?

we have faux wood Venetians in a couple of different colours, as it worked out much cheaper.you can't tell and they look great, the grain is fantastic. check out 247 blinds online, all ours are from there made to measure, fab quality and much cheaper

I have real wood in all rooms except the bathroom. Have faux in there as they resist moisture. Both are excellent but the faux are textured wood grain and look lovely. They were not a cheaper option though so depends where you buy them. Bought ours from woodenblindsdirect.co.uk and fitted ourselves.

Thank you for the replies, we're still thinking about it! I'm desperate to pull down our verticals, but DH is still dithering, he's moaning about the cost and 'but we don't actually need' new blinds.....yet it was him who arranged someone to come and measure up! I hate it when he does this!
