Decorating dilemmas

I’ve just painted the big wall up the stairs in dulux dusted fondant. It’s a gorgeous dusky pinky purple. The other walls are very pale grey (too pale really). Carpet is beigey grey, banister and doors are oak.

There is a window on the purple wall that needs a curtain. Do I match the purple or go for a pattern? I’m veering towards matching.

I would like a family photo gallery up the stairs. I think matt white frames would look good. I can’t decide on plain, ornate or a mixture.

Also can’t decide whether to have colour or black and white photos. I think black and white would look more harmonious and not clash with the purple wall.

Any opinions would be welcome. Thank you.

I think we need a photo.

I can’t get a good angle and the light is terrible but here goes.

I’d do a patterned or at least not too matchy curtain. Frames, matt white would be nice. Just pick stuff you like and don’t worry too much

Yes, I would do a modern blind, actually in the window, so that it is framed by the white window surround, which would match the pictureframes. For Material I would try to find something that pulls the colours together, something geometric or Orla Kiely inspired. Obviously lose the net. Modern box frames different sizes but not mixed designs.
Just an idea, but it’s difficult not knowing your personal tastes etc.

I'd definitely introduce pattern.
