Anyone had a new bathroom recently that isn't grey or beige?

Please could you show me pictures?

Obviously I'll be having a white suite! I think it's against the law not to. I fancy some colour or pattern in the tiles or walls though. Maybe a bit retro. House is a stone Victorian terrace and the bathroom is big.

Everything in the local bathroom showroom reminds me of a Travelodge Confused

  1. Metro tiles in an abundance of colors. I like the darker greens, especially crackle glaze.
  2. Victorian style patterned tiles. Google them. They are often gorgeous.

Are you on pinterest?

This is my bathroom, but it is grey and cream!

Oh that's lovely! Definitely not Travelodge style!

Where did you get the sink?

Yes I am on Pinterest. I've been searching but it's all very overwhelming.

The sink was v cheap from eBay and the cabinet was 4quid also eBay!!! The plumber cut hole for tap. I sanded and used worktop oil on it to waterproof. Tiles were cheap and floor left over from kitchen, bath we re used. We didn't have a big budget. I prefer the crackle glaze metro tiles though, really beautiful colors. With pinterest try Victorian bathroom. Just pick bits you like the look of.

Mine is charcoal grey but definitely not Travelodge style! I;m quite drawn to a bold teal for a bathroom, especially in a Victorian house. Are you on pinterest?

ours is currently having a shower put in - the excitement - so can't show pictures, but the walls are painted turquoise with white bathroom suite.

What about some Moroccan style tiles with lots of pattern? Would look good in a Victorian property.

Also look at Houzz for ideas.

We’ve done white metro tiles with a black trim. I love some of the colours you can get metro tiles in - we are planning to move or we would have gone for more colour.
I also like Milagros for funkier tiles (we used some in the kitchen).

We are planning navy tiles in a herringbone pattern (period house). Greens & golds are also on trend. As are black tapware/industrial.

Our ensuite has white ‘mini’ metro tiles on the walls, with a grey & white patterned tile floor. It looks fab. Sounds boring but the floor is so patterned it didn’t need more. Good thing is I can change the towel colours/candles/pictures if I fancy an update.

I’d personally go with metro tiles every time, so many colours & sizes, and you can buy the matching bridge & pencil trims, even the skirting tiles. Using a different colour grout is on trend too.

If you want a super period look, have a look at Minton hollings tiles.
