We're getting a new kitchen later in the year and planning things like splashbacks and flooring.

I really like the look of herringbone pattern tiles or wood and have seen that Karndean and Amtico do similar. My only concern is getting it fitted - it's obviously a far more fiddly job than laying big tiles or planks but is it particularly skilled? We are looking at around £700 to buy the flooring as the space is awkward and we'll need around 25 sq metres, and I''m thinking probably budget the same again for fitting?

Alternatively, if anyone can recommend a similar product which comes in larger tiles and is good quality and hardwearing that'd be great!

We had Amtico in the bathroom but removed it when we redecorated. It has exciting designs and looks great when new but it ages quickly. I'd choose tiles. Sorry!

We have Amtico and it's brilliant-bought from Floorbay-online. It is much much cheaper and they are very helpful. It has to be fitted professionally though to get the 25yr guarantee. IMO better than tiles as not so hard if you drop something and is much warmer to your feet!

My BIL had fitted their lvt kitchen floor - he had to screed it to get it level first - and he's done a great job. But then he is very handy and works in a trade, though not floor fitting.
