Good mattress and bed - any suggestions?

We're moving house soon (fingers crossed) and our new bedroom is large enough to take a super king bed.

Any recommendations for very supportive, comfortable, long lasting mattress and base?

Our current is pretty good quality - it's a divan with a great mattress. I think it's pocket sprung with a memory foam on top. Also has an extra topper zipped on too. It was the showroom display model so was a good one.

Thanks in advance!

We’ve got Hypnos superking zip and link with sublime mattresses on top. Each has a mattress to suit us hubby firm, mine medium. Quite expensive but worth every penny.

I got the Caspar a little while ago; is my favourite possession ever!

Thanks .

I'll read up on the Hypnos. I have heard of that brand.

I get a lot if ads for the foam mattresses. Is that what a Caspar is KATE ? How do they compare to the traditional springmatfress?

I got an ikea mattress and it’s fantastic. It’s one of the expensive ones though, think we paid £600 for a king size. Our frame is solid oak from a place in Perth.

Temper hybrid mattress is literally the best thing I've ever slept on and well worth the 3k it cost!

Try out a simba mattress - they are brilliant!

Get a latex tipped mattress and latex pillows. You will never look back. Pillows are £60 each and I think I paid £899 for my mattress.

Memory foam was too hot for me. The latex is much better for not getting too hot during the night.

The foam mattresses you get on a 100day trial and they take them back if you don't like them. They deliver in 24/48 hrs.
Am currently trying the Eve-it's a bit firm for me so they are sending me a free topper out to try.
Other ones are simba/emma/Leesa/otty/hugge
Which has just rated the emma as the best one. They also say Tempur are on the don't buy list.

Look at pocket sprung mattresses on special purchase at John Lewis. Get as many pockets as your budget can stretch to. I bought a king size one a couple of years ago for £650, it's wonderful.

I have other mattresses on spare beds w memory foam and I find them hot and sweaty! I like a traditional sprung mattress more.

I bought a slumberland latex silver a few years ago, it is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.

It's 2000 pocket springs with a latex layer on top, which sounds odd but is really comfortable and supportive. I have arthritis so it needs to be.

The actual bed is the old bed frame I already had, basic pine job.

We bought a Leesa super king mattress 7 weeks ago and we are extremely happy with it. I wouldn’t have hesitated to have had it collected in the 100 day trial period if we didn’t love it.
We bought an Ikea super king wooden frame with the most expensive of their three slatted bases. Very happy with that too!

Lulu1919 · 02/08/2018 22:15

We all have IKEA mattresses and beds and love them !

Verbena87 · 02/08/2018 22:18

We’ve got a Hypnos mattress and I really like it.

chesterindubai · 02/08/2018 22:54

We got a bed from Loaf and their softest mattress (medium I think)). Divan base with drawers and different options for headboard. Very happy with bed and mattress

Mrsramsayscat · 02/08/2018 23:48

Hypnos. Ours is ten years old, so we use s good mattress topper above it.

ChishandFips33 · 03/08/2018 00:07

IKEA here too

We just got a Simba mattress and it is AMAZING. I have hip problems and it's really helped me to be more comfortable at night.
