I'm going to paint my hallway today but I'm just wondering where is the best place to start? I live in a flat so quite a big hallway and may take a few days.

Do I start at the front door or at the last room?

Start at the top.

Possibly too late for you, but start at the best light source - that might be by the front door or could be somewhere else.

Thanks all, have managed to finish it today. Quite proud of myself, have never tackled it alone before. Just need to touch up woodwork which now looks grubby in comparison!

Satisfying isn't it? Our hall and downstairs loo are like the Forth Road Bridge of decorating. I am painting the hall woodwork - five doorways with loads of fiddly bits and four doors - the last bloody lap thank goodness. Looks a lot better and lighter than it did before.

If you have doors to paint, do take the door furniture off first - it's easier to paint the doors and you get a better result.
