How do I remove old paint from sockets?

Edges of kitchen switches and sockets are covered in paint from previous occupants so possibly been there a few years. Am I best to just sand off or would white spirit work? Worried it might melt the plastic.

I just use a razor blade to scrape it off.

I’d scrape it off (carefully) with a razor blade

Window scraper should work:

New socket fascias. Cheap as chips.

Plan on replacing the sockets with fancy ones when I can afford to so just need a quick fix for now.

Nylon scourer or magic sponge. Just cleaned the old paint off everything in part of our house. I was neater with the new paint!

Paint scraper or for smaller areas a Stanley blade. Gently obviously.
We had this in our new house, along with 6 glass doors that had been badly painted! Took me fucking weeks!

Sometimes just a thumbnail will do it.
