How much!?!?! Plantation shutter quote.....

Just had a quote for white mdf shutters. Two tall door size windows about 3 feet wide each. The quote was over £1200 for the two windows from a local SE company.
Any one got any tips for cheaper suppliers or tried to fit them yourself?

We got ours from the shutter store and paid someone to fit them. Much cheaper, though measuring up was nerve wracking!

I know Sarah Beeny recommends a DIY site for plantation shutters, but if you aren't confident you could get a local handy person to measure up for you, then fit them when they arrive.

Really happy with the quality. One panel arrived damaged and even though I didn't report it until ages later it was replaced without a quibble.
