How would you decorate this hall?

What would you do with this hall? There is a large stain glass window going up the stairs that I want to keep. What would you do with the panelling?

Maybe paint the paneling and radiator off white and the ceilings grey? Grey carpet and paint banister too? Make space look even larger and brighter

Carpet gone. Sand and paint banister white. Sand and varnish stairs with a runner carpet up the middle.
Is there tiles under the hall carpet. Restore them or lay new.
Paint panelling white.
Light grey ceiling and some wooden furniture. High hall table or coat stand etc.
Big leafy plant in a pot in a stand.
Quirky light from ceiling.
