odd living room, discontinued sofas and sinister feng shui

Hi Ladies,

So I'm moving back into my old house, and I'm having anxiety over the sitting room.

It's fairly large for me; at 8.33m x 5.54m. There are soo many problems: out of the 4 walls, one is full of windows, two walls are full of mirrors I cannot get rid of as they are are too big and literally cemented to the walls--and if I removed them I wouldn't know how to cover the weird gaps. The last wall has a staircase, floor to ceiling bookshelf and a radiator. So, literally no place for a tv. The walls that have the mirrors are opposite each other so they reflect into each other causing a feeling of being trapped in a sinister situation.

The last problem is that I have two 4 seater sofas in a putty/moss velvet and it's been discontinued. I had planned on creating two symmetrical sitting areas separated by a round pedestal table ... but I don't know how family friendly that would be. Any tips? Tricks and general ideas?

Could you hang a tapestry over one of the mirrors?

My decorator put a panel over a large "built in" mirror for me. Would that work

Not for the larger mirror, but I can cover the smaller mirror with a tapestry--but isn't that bad luck/sign of mourning?

I'd plaster over the bastards.

Couldn't live with that, maybe talk to a builder and see if they can find a solution? one mirror for light etc. is fine, but many and on opposite walls would drive me mad, also, I wouldn't want to be able to see myself while chatting or relaxing, awful!

Stick trellis over the mirrors in a light colour if you really can’t lose them - will break them up but still keep the light effect.
