Correct pillows for a UK super-king bed?

Hi, I’ve heard of 6 pillows and continental pillows/bolster etc and i’m so confused. What is the ‘proper’ way to dress a super king bed pillow wise?

Thanks would two large square continental pillows work behind regular pillows as well?

We have 3 square along the back for height, then 2 x 90cm wide pillows that obviously sit lower but still fill the entire width of the bed, then 2 normal pillows at the front and a teeny rectangular one in front of that.

We remove the square pillows to sleep, so retain the 90cm and the normal ones but we flip the pillows so the side you sleep on is the side that gets hidden every morning (sweaty head husband.)

There are loads of ideas on Pinterest, I am sure my pillow ideas came from there.

The only thing is that trying to find pillow cases for the 90cm or square ones may be an issue. I make my own cases from sheets that match in with the bedding.

Thanks Magnolia, that’s definately helped me. I’m going to go for the king size 90cm pillows with our regular in front with a view to maybe getting some square ones at a later date as they do look really nice. I do however have a padded headboard on my new bed so may not need but we’ll see.

Oh great idea making the pillowcases, I’m really not that patient or talented (stitching buttons on is as far as my handiwork goes.) i’ve found a local store that stock the pillowcases I need though and even better they have a sale on.

But as pp said 90cm is the one you need for that size. I think Dunelm do them too.

There are loads of 90cm pillowcases but generally in simpler/white company type styles.
