What flooring?

Im after some laminate floor for in my hall. We have just had a new banister put in, in oak and am wanting oak doors to match.
What colour flooring should i go for?

We have the same colours in our hallway - a grey carpet works, looks really lovely :)

go light.... ceramic tiles stone effect? my parents have alight blue/grey/distressed laminate that doesn't look crap. i am shocked. My friend has white laminate that looks nice, but it is textrured and gaps get filled with crap.....so avoid that. make it easy to clean etc...... i dont liek fitted carpets downsairs or in bathrooms, its so skanky.

Thanks, will go floor shopping tomorrow, dont want to go darker, as we have no window in the hall, so quite dark in there
