Help me choose a wow factor worktop.

We are redoing the kitchen in our new house, it will be a large bright area with an island and a splash back with same material as the worktop.
Kitchen cabinets will be Howdens tawbury (or something like that) framed style in cashmere and island in antique white. With cup handles.
Light gray large tiles on floor, probably white walls.

Now what worktop should I go for, as everything is quite neutral the worktop can stand out a bit.
I'm thinking granite or quartz, in a light colour?
Any ideas what would work well?

Something veined that looks like marble?

Wowfudge that is exactly what I was thinking, there is a few beautiful quartz's ( Calcutta and river something) I haven't found a granite that I love quite as much but in a way I would prefer granite as it's natural it feels like it would be more interesting ( and it's cheaper..)
