Do coloured black out blinds work?

Just put up curtains in DDs bedroom. They are pink and should be black out curtains but the room is still really bright and she’s started waking really early as a result. I need to get a black out blind to put underneath.
I’ve found a pink blackout blind but will this actually keep the light out?
It doesn’t have to be pink but I’d rather not have black- unless that is what will truly keep the light out.
Does anyone know?
The window is a really big bay window and I’m having to spend a small fortune on the blinds and can’t really afford to trial and error this time!

We just got blue and beige ones. Work a treat!

We've got a red, pink, purple and teal blackout blind all from Argos and they work brilliantly.

We have a green and a blue blackout blind Inthe children's bedrooms and they are pretty good. Theres always a gap round the edge where light can come in though with decent curtains you can minimise it.

Yes any colour should be fine. I have cream black out blinds which are really good.

Yes, I have had a red one from B&Q and now have a teal one from Next. I supplement them with curtains, as I face east and get the morning sun about 3am, which really doesn't suit me.

We've been through various iterations and in the end bought the cheapest one from blocblinds. They are inside a frame - no light leaks at all!! Also they keep the heat out quite well if that room is really sunny
