What goes with Black & Gold wallpaper?

Moved house and the master bedroom has wallpaper that I am genuinely struggling with. It's amazing - a dark gold that glitters and it's textured, everyone comments it must be very expensive. The fitted furniture is dark brown/black.
I just don't seem to be able to personalise it. I bought gold bedding but that doesn't seem to go and i'd love to put photos and pictures up but nothing goes. It's like the wallpaper is an artwork in itself.
Any suggestions?

I'd go for lovely crisp white or ivory sheets. Keep it simple- there's enough going on with the wallpaper.

Dark colours could make it look a bit boudoir-y... which is fine if that's what you'd like. Plum would be a nice rich addition.

I second the white, other than that at a push I’d say a light taupe but I think white would be far better

Pinterest will have lots of ideas

Plain navy bedding?
Although it's not horrible I think I'd have to take it down if it were me, it's a bit too dark and busy and you can see the joins in the paper (unless you like it obviously) Smile

I'm pretty sure that this is what the clear/Black shiny plastic furniture was designed for.

No matter how expensive it may have been, you didn't pay for it, so it's no problem if youd rather get rid of it. You didn't actually say you like it at all, so admire it's magnificence and wish it farewell

Thanks everyone. Especially @CurlsLDN for permission to get rid of it. I tugged a corner and it comes up easily so that's good to know for when we have more time energy!
In the meantime I'm inspired by Trolls advice to go with a rich colour - a deep red, cos i realised i have two ornaments in that colour i love - and to embrace the Oriental boutique/boudoir hotel look.
And Racecardriver you are quite right - so i ordered a black shiny plasticky boudoiry dressing table!!
Just the spare room to get my head round now.

Another vote here for removing it, OP. To me it looks really horrible.
