Just moved into a new home - Paint or new sofas first for the living room?

Hi all

We've just moved into a new home and are wanting to decorate the living room first.

Should we choose paint colour or sofas first? We've got wood furniture and a creamish/grey carpet which we will be keeping.

Room is north-west facing.

I would chose wall colours first, unless you are thinking of making a statement with your sofas, we have always had cheapish, simple sofas, so colour of walls was were I tried to do something interesting!

Depends on the house as well, if it's a period house, with beautiful original features than colour of walls is again less important, if a blandish new built you may need some colour to make it interesting!
