Does anyone have art in their bathroom?

Just finished a complete refurbishment of our main bathroom and the untiled walls look a bit bare. I'd like to put some art on the wall but not sure f this would work in a steamy environment.

Any ideas?

I have a fused glass picture, which seems to work well. It’s not this, but similar sort of idea

I have some beach photos I took on holiday. They're printed on metal (Photobox) so pretty water resistant.

I have a reproduction metal enamel sign of the rules in of a bathing house. Women were only allowed to bathe on a Wednesday.

I have got two framed paintings in one bathroom (no shower so not steamy at all) plus a few pieces of ceramic art.

A local gallery sells ceramic wall art and I nearly bought some more for the bathroom I am doing up first last week but I didn't (regret it so I will have to go back). It is really delicate, rolled really thinly with things like dandelions or a few words and an odd shape.

I can't remember who it is by or I would post a link.

If you search for ceramic wall art on Etsy there is quite a bit but I haven't found any I like as much as the stuff I saw locally.

Weve got artwork in our bathroom with a shower. Not had any problems at all. We have a fan and i always have a small window open except for winter.

We have 2 vintage enamel advertising signs so no problems with steaming up.

Yes. Framed prints. They've been fine but I wouldn't risk original paintings.

Thanks. I don't think enamel signs would work but I like the idea of ceramic wall art.

@eurochick how do you stop the metal from going rusty?

@RhythmNBooze I don't do anything. I think they are printed on aluminium so wont rust. I've had them for years with no problem, although they are not in the main (steamiest) bathroom.

Bluntness100 · 27/05/2018 21:28

I have three framed charcoal drawings , it gets steamy in there, I've not had an issue, they have been up four years now.

We have a metal sculpture on the wall. Works beautifully
