I thought Carpetright went into administration - or at least were in trouble? I'd be uncomfortable handing over any cash without getting product from them first!

There are tons of carpet suppliers and pretty much all the decent sized ones will offer a credit scheme, so it's more will you be approved for it/what's the interest like etc. The other option is a long term purchase 0% credit card, as long as you can clear it in the 0% period.

There is also an outfit called Pay Weekly carpets but I can't believe they sell fairly-priced/value for money flooring because they claim to not charge interest, and it's aimed at the lower cost and riskier end of the credit market, so they will have to budget for bad debt as well.

What about a 0% interest credit card if you qualify? That's a good way to spread the cost of big purchases without paying a premium.
