We’ve just decorated our small study. Half the walls are off-white, the other half are navy blue (Dulux Sapphire Salute – I love it!). At one end of the room is the work desk, and at the other we have an Ikea daybed, just to give us options if we have more guests than will fit in our spare room. The daybed is under a window.
I’m going to get a cover made for the mattress on the daybed and a blind for the window. Originally, I was going to get both in mustard yellow, as I love the combination and it will work brilliantly with a painting we have to go on one of the walls. However, I’m wondering if it will be too much mustard. The fabric I have picked also comes in a blue that is an almost perfect match to the paint, so I’m now dithering on what would look best:
1 Both blind and cover in mustard
2 Blind in mustard, cover in navy
3 Blind in navy, cover in mustard
And all this is complicated by the fact that I want some cushions on the daybed – no idea what combination of blue and mustard to go for there, I’m hoping that Dunelm inspires me when I finally get down there to see what they have!
Anyway – here’s a room plan so you can see how all the different colours relate to one another. I’d love to know what combo you think will work best.
