daughter has just had nose bleed on brand new grey carpet. She is ok now but what do I do to remove blood? hot water? cold water? Afraid of doing something to make it worse.

Im not an expert but not hot water as will set it. I would dab excess off with kitchen roll. Possibly add cold water and salt solution? or someone once told me that an enzyme in human saliva breaks blood stain down but you don’t want to spit in your new carpet

Blot it, cold water and bolt again, repeat over and over till gone.

Thank you - it looks like most of it is out - will only be able to see for certain tomorrow morning in cold light of day. Thanks so much for advice!!

Do you have a pet stain and odour remover spray? Spray a lot on the residual stains and leave for a bit. Blot with kitchen towels, and repeat until they're gone.

I've done this on our light coloured carpet but you may want to test the spray on a hidden patch of carpet first.

Try Dr Beckman carpet stain remover, from Tesco. It's about £3.50 ànd comes with its own brush. It's magic. I use it when the dog has an accident on the carpet
