I need t update my "playroom" from Ikea Kallax

Kids are now 11&14 so it's not so much of a playroom anymore though we still have quite a few board games.
I have two Kallax units with baskets one upright and one horizontal - what can I replace with? I have green leather sofas and a wooden floor, the house is old but this room is the least traditional. Any ideas please?

I don't think Kallax is inherently childish. They are so versatile! Use it as a bookcase, sideboard, room divider, anything! And they're so easy to personalize as well. You could paint them, add baskets, cabinet doors, labels, boxes with nice pulls, put down some wood on top (or all around), brass around the corners, add legs or castors ... endless!

I think they could be very useful and stylish in a teenage space.

Remove every other basket and use as a display unit

A nice deep bookcase and an ottoman? A desk?

Personally I'd keep the Kallax though. We swapped the drona boxes for cupboards when DC got older.
